ANNOUNCEMENT: PROJECT BLUE ENVELOPE

We are thrilled to introduce the Park Ridge Police Department's latest initiative, the "Blue Envelope Program," designed to aid individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) during traffic stops or motor vehicle interactions.

The Blue Envelope serves as a crucial communication tool, ensuring smooth and clear exchanges between individuals with ASD and law enforcement officers, thereby preventing any potential misunderstandings.

Participants in the program will maintain a blue envelope containing essential documents such as their driver's license, registration, insurance card, and a white information sheet. Clear instructions are printed on the envelope's exterior for easy reference by both the driver and the officer. Additionally, the envelope indicates whether the individual with ASD is verbal or non-verbal, streamlining communication further. The back of the envelope includes pertinent information for the receiving officer and, if needed, emergency contact details to swiftly address any concerns.

To enroll in Project Blue Envelope or for more information, please contact Lt. James Babcock at This email address is being protected from spambots.
